Email marketing your agent runs end-to-end

MarketingEmailCommunicationAnalyticsAutomation

MailerLite is an email marketing platform built around subscriber management, campaign creation, and automation sequences — the full stack from signup form to send. Connect it to Actionist and your agent can create subscribers, enrol them in automations, fire campaigns on business events, and surface open and click data back to your CRM — all in plain language, all without leaving your workflow.

New trial signup, fully onboarded in 60 seconds

When a trial signup email lands in Gmail, the agent looks up the subscriber's engagement profile in MailerLite, enrols them in the onboarding automation, pings the assigned CSM in Slack, and blocks time on the CSM's Google Calendar for a kickoff call — all before the welcome email even lands in the inbox. No lead falls through the gap between marketing automation and human success.

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    19 min / week
    List-update after close

Rep manually adds each closed customer to the MailerLite customer group after updating the CRM — done at end of day, sometimes forgotten.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
    Agent syncs on deal close

The moment a deal moves to Closed-Won, the agent updates the MailerLite group and logs the event — CRM and email list are always in sync.

  • Marketing
    14 min / week
    Campaign draft hand-off

Marketer creates campaign drafts from scratch each week by copying subject lines and recipient groups from a brief document into MailerLite.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
    Agent scaffolds every draft

On trigger, the agent creates the MailerLite draft with pre-filled subject, group, and sender — the editor opens to a ready canvas, not a blank form.

  • Customer Support
    19 min / week
    Trial signup triage

Support manually checks MailerLite after each trial signup to confirm the subscriber is in the right onboarding group and CSM is notified.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
    Agent routes and notifies instantly

The agent enrols the subscriber in the correct MailerLite group and pings the CSM in Slack within seconds of the signup landing — zero manual triage.

  • Human Resources
    8 min / week
    New hire newsletter setup

HR manually creates a MailerLite subscriber for each new hire and adds them to internal newsletter and policy update groups one by one.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
    Agent provisions on HRIS event

When a new hire record is created, the agent creates the MailerLite subscriber and adds them to all required internal groups automatically on day one.

  • Finance
    14 min / week
    Invoice-to-list update

Finance team manually checks each paid invoice against the MailerLite subscriber list and updates the plan-tier field, usually weekly in bulk.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
    Agent updates on payment confirmed

When an invoice is marked paid, the agent immediately updates the subscriber's MailerLite plan-tier field — billing and email data never drift apart.

  • Operations
    30 min / week
    Batch import and dedup

Ops imports new contacts via CSV each week, manually checking for duplicates and assigning group tags before uploading to MailerLite.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
    Agent upserts with dedup guard

The agent runs Create or Update on each contact, handles duplicates automatically, and assigns the right group based on source column — a 500-row batch takes five minutes, not three hours.

  • Legal
    6 min / week
    Unsubscribe compliance filing

Legal manually tracks opt-out requests and verifies each unsubscribe in MailerLite against the compliance log spreadsheet to meet CAN-SPAM deadlines.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
    Agent unsubscribes and logs instantly

The agent unsubscribes the contact in MailerLite within seconds of an opt-out request and appends the timestamp to the compliance log — CAN-SPAM's 10-day window becomes a non-issue.

How to plug MailerLite into Actionist

Pick the connection method that suits your environment.

The fastest path. Install MailerLite's MCP server in one click and the agent reaches your subscribers, groups, and campaigns through a permissioned handshake — no API tokens to rotate, no rate-limit config to maintain.

1
Open the Apps tab

Find MailerLite in the Apps library and click Connect. MCP is selected by default.

2
Authorise in MailerLite

You'll be redirected to MailerLite to approve read and write access for subscribers, groups, and campaigns. Select the account you want Actionist to operate on and confirm.

3
Test the connection

Actionist runs a read-only call to verify the handshake. You're ready.

FAQs

Questions about MailerLite + Actionist

How do I connect MailerLite to Actionist?
Open the Apps tab, find MailerLite, and click Connect. MCP is the default and recommended method — you authorise Actionist to access your MailerLite account in one OAuth step and the agent is live immediately. If you prefer to use an API key, generate a token under MailerLite → Integrations → Developer API and paste it into the API key field. The Classic API must be enabled separately if your account uses it.
What permissions does Actionist need in MailerLite?
Actionist needs read and write access to subscribers, groups, campaigns, and automations. Via MCP the permission scope is set automatically during the OAuth handshake. Via API key, generate a token under MailerLite → Integrations → Developer API — MailerLite API tokens have full account-level access by default, so keep the token confidential and revoke it from the Integrations page if you ever rotate credentials.
Which MailerLite objects can the agent read and write?
The agent can create, update, and unsubscribe subscribers; manage group memberships (add, remove, create groups); create and send campaigns; and read subscriber profiles, group lists, and campaign stats. It cannot currently edit automation sequence steps, modify form designs, or access billing settings — those remain in the MailerLite dashboard.
Will the agent create duplicate subscribers if it runs multiple times?
Use the 'Create or Update Subscriber' action for any pipeline where the same email might arrive more than once — it upserts safely, updating fields on existing records without creating a duplicate. The 'Create a new subscriber' action will return an error if the email already exists, so pair it with a 'Find a Subscriber' check upstream if you need that guard explicitly.
How do I avoid triggering a loop when the agent writes back to MailerLite?
MailerLite trigger events fire on all writes, including those from the API. To avoid a loop, add a condition check before each write: for example, verify the subscriber's current group before adding them to it, or check a custom field like 'agent_synced' before updating. Actionist's workflow logic supports these guard conditions natively — set them on the trigger handler, not on the action itself.
Can the agent schedule MailerLite campaign sends or only trigger immediate sends?
The 'Send a Campaign' action triggers an immediate send on an existing draft. To schedule a send, the agent should create the draft with 'Create a Draft Campaign' and use Actionist's built-in scheduler to fire 'Send a Campaign' at the target time. MailerLite's own scheduled send feature is not currently exposed via API — the scheduling layer lives in your Actionist workflow, not in MailerLite.
Does MailerLite enforce API rate limits the agent needs to respect?
MailerLite's API allows 120 requests per minute on paid plans and 60 per minute on free plans. For bulk operations like importing hundreds of subscribers, use the 'Create or Update Subscriber' action in a batched loop with a short delay between iterations rather than firing all requests simultaneously. Actionist's workflow engine includes a rate-limiter step you can insert to stay inside the threshold automatically.
How do I ensure GDPR compliance when the agent manages subscriber data?
Configure the agent to honour opt-out requests within 10 business days (CAN-SPAM) or 30 days (GDPR) by using 'Unsubscribe Subscriber' the moment a deletion or opt-out request is received — don't batch these. Log each unsubscribe event with a timestamp to your compliance tracker. Never re-add a previously unsubscribed email to a MailerLite group without documented re-consent; the MailerLite API will accept the write, but the legal exposure is yours.
