New booking to full onboarding in 90 seconds

When a customer's welcome email arrives confirming their first Anny appointment, your agent springs into action — pulling the booking details, creating the appointment in Anny with all intake notes pre-populated, firing a Slack alert to the assigned staff member, and dropping a Google Calendar event with the join link before the customer has closed their inbox. No receptionist needs to touch a keyboard; every first impression is flawless.

FAQs

Questions about Anny + Actionist

How do I connect Anny to Actionist?
Open the Apps tab, find Anny, and click Connect. The recommended path is MCP — it opens an Anny authorisation screen, you grant the requested scopes (appointments, customers, staff, payments), and Actionist verifies the handshake with a read-only call. Alternatively, generate an API token in Anny → Settings → Integrations → API Keys and paste it into the API Token connection method.
Which Anny objects can the agent read and write?
Once connected, agents can read and write appointments, customers, services, staff calendars, resource bookings, and payments. The agent can also send appointment reminders and retrieve service availability — the full operational surface of your Anny account.
How do I avoid booking the same slot twice if the agent and a customer book simultaneously?
Anny handles slot locking at the API level — if two create-appointment calls race for the same slot, Anny rejects the second and returns an availability error. The agent catches that error, re-queries Get service availability, and offers the next open slot automatically. You never end up with a double-booking from agent actions.
Can the agent fire appointment reminders on a schedule, or only reactively?
Both. You can configure a calendar job that runs daily at a set time — the agent lists upcoming Anny appointments for the next 24–48 hours and dispatches reminders to each customer. Or use the Appointment booked trigger to send a confirmation the instant a booking lands. The two modes can run in parallel without duplicating messages if you scope each to a distinct reminder window.
What happens if a trigger fires but the agent creates a duplicate action?
Use Anny's idempotency surface: the agent checks for an existing appointment or customer by email before creating a new one. For payments, process-payment is only called once the agent confirms no prior payment record exists for that appointment ID. Add a Notion or Google Sheets log that the agent checks at the start of each run to catch any edge-case reruns.
Does the Anny connection work for multi-location businesses?
Yes. Anny supports multiple locations under a single account, and the API exposes location IDs as filterable fields on appointments and service availability. When you configure the connection, specify which location IDs the agent should scope to, and it will never create bookings in the wrong branch.
How do I handle Anny rate limits during busy booking periods?
Anny's API applies standard rate limits per token. For high-volume scenarios — campaign launches, post-event booking surges — the agent automatically queues requests with a short backoff when it receives a 429 response. For scheduled batch operations like weekly capacity reports, spread them across a 5–10 minute window rather than firing all requests in a single burst.
Can I disconnect Anny without losing historical appointment data?
Disconnecting Anny from Actionist revokes the agent's access token and stops all live triggers and scheduled jobs. Your Anny data — appointments, customers, payments — remains intact in Anny itself. Any data the agent has already written to connected systems (HubSpot, Google Sheets, Notion) is unaffected. Reconnecting restores full agent access immediately.
