How do I connect Sendy to Actionist?
In the Apps tab, find Sendy and click Connect. You'll enter your Sendy installation URL (e.g. https://send.yourdomain.com) and your API key from Settings → Your API Key in the Sendy admin panel. Actionist runs a live subscriber-count verification before saving — if that passes, you're connected and agents can immediately start managing lists and campaigns.
What credentials does the Sendy integration need?
You need two things: the URL of your self-hosted Sendy installation and your Sendy API key. The API key is found in your Sendy admin panel under your user settings — navigate to Settings → Your API Key and copy it. The key grants read-write access to all lists and campaigns on that Sendy instance, so treat it like a password.
Which Sendy objects can agents read and write?
Agents can manage Campaigns (create, send, schedule, fetch stats), Subscribers (subscribe, unsubscribe, delete, status-check, update custom fields, count), and Lists (create, delete, fetch details and active counts). Sendy's API doesn't expose individual open or click events per subscriber, so per-contact analytics are not available — aggregate campaign stats are.
What are the most common Sendy automations teams run?
The highest-value workflows are: enrolling new contacts from CRM stage changes or form submissions, moving subscribers between lists when customers upgrade or churn, sending release announcements the moment a deploy completes, and running daily subscriber-count checks to catch list decay early. Any event in another tool that changes a contact's lifecycle stage is a good Sendy automation candidate.
Does Actionist respect Sendy's unsubscribe state?
Yes. Before enrolling any contact, the agent calls Get the status of subscriber to check whether they've previously unsubscribed, bounced, or complained. If any of those states are returned, the agent skips enrolment and logs the reason — preventing compliance violations without requiring you to maintain a manual suppression list.
Can agents send campaigns directly, or do they need a human to approve?
Agents can create and send campaigns fully autonomously if your workflow is configured that way. For workflows requiring approval, route the campaign creation through a human-review step — the agent creates the campaign but waits for a Slack reaction or a Google Sheet checkbox before calling Send a campaign. The two-step pattern prevents unintended sends without sacrificing automation.
How does Sendy's Amazon SES dependency affect automation?
Sendy uses your own Amazon SES account to send, so your SES sending limits and reputation directly affect what agents can do. Before scheduling high-volume sends, agents can call Count subscribers to estimate the send size against your SES daily limit. If your SES account is in sandbox mode, only verified addresses receive emails — production sends require SES production access.
What happens if I disconnect Sendy from Actionist?
Disconnecting removes the stored API key and URL — agents can no longer reach your Sendy instance. Any workflows that call Sendy actions will fail at that step and surface an error in the agent's run log. Existing subscribers, lists, and campaigns in Sendy are untouched. Reconnecting with a valid key restores full agent access immediately.
