Build forms, collect responses, act on answers — automatically

FormsProductivityAutomationDocumentsScheduling

Google Forms is Google's native form and survey builder: create a form, share a link, and answers flow straight into Google Sheets. Connect it to Actionist and your agents can create forms on the fly, add or update questions based on live data, retrieve and analyse individual responses, configure quizzes with graded answer keys, and react the instant a new submission arrives — all without you opening a browser tab.

Eliminates manual work. Agents eliminate the manual cycle of copying form responses into trackers, routing submissions to the right person, and re-keying answers into CRM or project tools.

Route support triage to Slack and calendar

When a customer submits a triage form, the agent reads their priority answer, creates a callback slot, and posts a structured brief to #support — contact details, issue category, and booked meeting link, all delivered before the support rep opens their inbox. Zero manual ticket routing. Zero copy-paste.

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    18 min / week
    Manual lead form triage

Reps check the responses sheet, copy contact details into the CRM, and individually assign follow-up tasks — often hours after submission.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
    Agent routes leads on submission

The agent reads each new response, creates the HubSpot contact, and notifies the assigned rep on Slack within 30 seconds of the form being submitted.

  • Marketing
    13 min / week
    Post-campaign survey export

Marketers download the CSV, clean the data, segment by NPS score, and manually queue each segment for the right email sequence.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
    Agent segments and sequences instantly

On every new survey submission, the agent reads the NPS answer, applies the matching coupon or upsell sequence in Stripe, and logs the segment in the campaign tracker.

  • Customer Support
    18 min / week
    Triage form copy-paste

Support agents open each form response, read the priority field, manually create a ticket, and CC the right team — a per-submission chore repeated dozens of times a day.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
    Agent opens and routes tickets

The agent catches the webhook, maps the priority answer to a ticket category, creates the issue, and posts a structured summary to #support before the human agent sees the notification.

  • Human Resources
    7 min / week
    Onboarding form follow-up

HR reviews each new hire's onboarding form, identifies missing answers, and sends individual follow-up emails to fill gaps — often a day after submission.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
    Agent flags gaps same day

On each onboarding form submission, the agent checks required fields, creates the Notion profile, and emails only the missing items back to the new hire within minutes.

  • Finance
    13 min / week
    Expense request review

Finance manually reads each expense form submission, checks the budget spreadsheet, and emails the appropriate approver with the details retyped.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
    Agent routes to correct approver

The agent reads the amount and category from the form response, cross-references the budget tracker, and opens an approval issue in the finance ops repo — no emails, no copy-paste.

  • Operations
    25 min / week
    Vendor onboarding data entry

Ops copies vendor answers from the Forms response sheet into the vendor tracker, Notion profile, and CRM record — three separate destinations, each done by hand.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
    Agent populates all systems

On vendor form submission, the agent writes the structured data to the Notion vendor profile, updates the HubSpot company record, and flags any missing required fields automatically.

  • Legal
    6 min / week
    Compliance form audit

Legal manually verifies that consent and disclosure questions appear in the correct position on each active form before it is shared externally.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
    Agent verifies form structure

Before any form link goes live, the agent reads the form structure, confirms consent questions appear at index 0, and posts a pass/fail check to the legal Slack channel.

Connect

How to plug Google Forms into Actionist

Pick the connection method that suits your environment.

The fastest path. Install the Google Forms MCP server in one click and the agent reaches your forms through a permissioned Google OAuth handshake — 19 tools available immediately, no credentials to copy.

1
Open the Apps tab

Find Google Forms in the Apps library and click Connect. MCP is selected by default.

2
Authorise in Google

A Google OAuth consent screen opens. Sign in with the Google account that owns your Forms, grant the requested Forms and Drive scopes, and close the window — the token is stored securely.

3
Test the connection

Actionist runs a read-only call to verify the handshake. You're ready.

FAQs

Questions about Google Forms + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Google Forms?
The recommended path is MCP with Google OAuth. You click Connect, approve the Forms and Drive scopes in a standard Google consent screen, and the agent has immediate access to all your forms. No API keys to generate or rotate. The alternative is a Google Cloud API key or service account for headless server deployments.
Which Google Forms operations can the agent perform?
The agent can create forms, read and update form structure, add or modify questions (short answer, multiple choice, scale, grid, date, checkbox, dropdown), set quiz mode and answer keys, add sections plus image and video items, list and retrieve individual responses, link forms to specific Google Sheets, and register live watches for real-time submission alerts.
Will the agent trigger itself in a loop when it creates or edits a form?
No. The 'New Form Response' and 'New or Updated Form Response' triggers fire only on respondent submissions — not on structural edits made by the agent via the Forms API. Editing questions or form info does not produce a response event, so there is no self-triggering loop.
What OAuth scopes does the Google Forms connection require?
The MCP connection requests `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/forms.body` for reading and writing form structure, `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/forms.responses.readonly` for reading submissions, and `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file` for linking response sheets. You can review and revoke these at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Can the agent work with quiz grading and answer keys?
Yes. The agent can enable quiz mode on any form, assign point values and correct answers to individual questions, set per-answer feedback text, and configure whether respondents see correct answers immediately or after the form closes. This works for all gradeable question types: multiple choice, checkbox, and dropdown.
How does the 'Watch responses' action differ from the response trigger?
The 'Watch responses' action registers a server-side notification channel with the Google Forms API so the agent receives push events within seconds of a submission — no polling interval delay. The trigger is the workflow entry point; Watch responses is an action you call to maintain that live channel, typically at workflow start or on a daily refresh to prevent the watch from expiring after 7 days.
Does disconnecting remove my forms or responses?
No. Disconnecting Google Forms from Actionist only revokes the agent's OAuth token — it does not delete, modify, or restrict access to any of your forms or response data in Google Drive. Your forms remain fully intact and all past responses stay in Google Sheets. You can reconnect at any time.
Can the agent access forms in shared Google Drive folders or Team Drives?
Yes, provided the authenticated Google account has at least Editor access to those forms. The Drive scope granted during OAuth covers files shared with the account, not just files the account owns. Service account connections require the account to be added as an editor on the relevant forms or Shared Drive.
