AI meeting recorder that turns calls into action

AICommunicationProductivitySalesCRM

Fathom records, transcribes, and summarises every meeting so your agents can act on what was actually said. Connect Fathom and your agent instantly retrieves transcripts, AI summaries, action items, and highlights from any call — then pushes that intelligence into your CRM, project tracker, or Slack channel without anyone typing a single note. Every commitment made on a call becomes a tracked task; every customer insight lands in the right system the moment the meeting ends.

Post-Call CRM & Slack Update

The moment a customer call ends, the agent retrieves Fathom's AI summary and action items, writes everything into the HubSpot deal record, and posts a compact debrief to the #cs-team Slack channel — all before the rep has closed their laptop. No copy-pasting, no forgotten follow-ups, and every stakeholder is in sync within minutes of the last goodbye.

How to plug Fathom into Actionist

Pick the connection method that suits your environment.

Connect via the official Fathom MCP Server for the fastest, most complete integration — your agent gains access to recordings, transcripts, summaries, highlights, and action items through a single authorised handshake, with no manual API credential management.

1
Open the Apps tab

Find Fathom in the Apps library and click Connect. Fathom MCP Server is selected by default as the recommended method.

2
Authorise in Fathom

A Fathom authorisation window opens. Sign in with your Fathom account and grant Actionist read access to your recordings, transcripts, and meeting data.

3
Test the connection

Actionist runs a read-only call to list your recent recordings. A green checkmark confirms the handshake. Your agent is ready to work with Fathom data.

FAQs

Questions about Fathom + Actionist

What Fathom data can the agent access?
Once connected, your agent can read recordings, full transcripts, AI summaries, action items, highlights, and contact participation history. It can also manage webhooks and retrieve download links — giving it the complete call intelligence layer Fathom captures.
How do I authenticate Fathom with Actionist?
The fastest path is the Fathom MCP Server: click Connect in the Apps tab and authorise Actionist with your Fathom account in the OAuth window. If you prefer a direct REST connection, go to Fathom Settings → Integrations → API, generate a personal API token, and paste it into the API Token field.
Which meeting platforms does Fathom record?
Fathom supports Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other major video conferencing platforms. As long as Fathom is an active notetaker on the call, your agent can retrieve the recording and all derived content once processing is complete.
How quickly are transcripts and summaries available?
Fathom typically processes recordings within a few minutes of the meeting ending. The New Transcript and New AI Summary webhooks fire as soon as each artefact is ready, so your agent can react in near real time rather than waiting for a scheduled poll.
Can the agent create tasks directly from Fathom action items?
Yes — the most common pattern is listening on the New Action Item webhook, then routing each item to ClickUp, Asana, or GitHub Issues using the extracted owner name for assignment. The agent can also add the source recording link so every task has full context.
How do I prevent duplicate CRM entries when multiple calls happen in one day?
Use the recording ID from the Fathom payload as a deduplication key when writing to your CRM. Before creating a new record, the agent can search for an existing entry with that ID and update rather than insert — keeping your contact activity log clean regardless of call volume.
Can I limit which recordings the agent processes?
Yes — filter by participant email domain, meeting title keywords, or a specific Fathom tag when the webhook payload arrives. You can also use the List recordings action with a date or keyword filter to pull only the subset relevant to a particular workflow.
Is the Fathom API rate-limited, and how should the agent handle that?
Fathom's API applies standard rate limits on reads; heavy bulk operations like fetching transcripts for hundreds of recordings should include a short delay between calls. For event-driven workflows the webhook approach is preferred over polling, as it generates far fewer API calls and delivers data as soon as it is ready.
