How do I avoid sending duplicate emails when the agent adds contacts to lists?
Before adding a contact to any list, instruct the agent to call Find Contact Profile first and check their existing list memberships. If the contact already belongs to the target list, skip the add step. This two-step check prevents duplicate enrolments and keeps ClickFunnels Classic's send counts clean. You can also use Find or Create Contact Profile as an idempotent entry point that handles the duplicate check automatically.
Can the agent react to purchases in real time, or does it poll?
The New Successful Purchase and New Failed Purchase triggers are webhook-based — ClickFunnels Classic pushes the event to Actionist the instant a payment is processed or declined, typically within two seconds. There is no polling delay. The New Contact Activity trigger also uses webhooks, so the agent reacts to page visits and form submissions in real time rather than on a schedule.
What happens if the agent tries to grant membership access to a contact who already has it?
Calling Grant Membership Access on a contact who already has active access is safe — ClickFunnels Classic treats it as a no-op and returns a success response without creating a duplicate record. To be explicit, you can call Get Membership first and skip the grant step if access is already active. Either approach prevents accidental double-provisioning without breaking the workflow.
How should I handle GDPR or CASL unsubscribe requests through Actionist?
When an unsubscribe or deletion request arrives, instruct the agent to call Remove Email From List for every list the contact belongs to, then Remove Tag From Email for all behavioural tags, and optionally use API Request (Beta) to submit a deletion request to the ClickFunnels Classic data API. Log each step to your compliance sheet in Google Sheets before the workflow completes so you have a dated audit trail of the removal actions taken.
Can Actionist manage contacts across multiple ClickFunnels Classic accounts?
